Septic system hearings

Dear friends,

The Board of Health has just announced a series of hearings in our district that are set for the next couple of weeks. I wanted you to be among the first to know. I will be attending the Woodinville hearing on June 22nd and the Fall City hearing on June 28th. Here is a list of the hearings and some more information from the Board of Health:

Just a quick follow up on the proposed onsite sewage system program and fee that the Board of Health will be hearing this Thursday. This is a first reading only. In anticipation of the need for further public comment, we secured meeting dates and locations for four meetings across the county the week of June 20 including one in Maple Valley with State Representative Magendanz and State Senator Roach (they contacted us and we were able to find a date that worked).

For your information, here's more information on the composition of the Board of Health. The Board of Health is a separate entity. These are the members:

The 11-member board is comprised of three health professionals:
Benjamin Danielson, MD in Seattle
Bill Daniell, MD in Seattle
Patty Hayes, Director of Public Health

and eight elected officials:

King County Councilmember Rod Dembowski [Chair]
King County Councilmember Kathy Lambert [Vice Chair for King County]
King County Councilmember Joe McDermott
Seattle City Councilmember Sally Bagshaw [Vice Chair for Seattle]
Seattle City Councilmember Lorena Gonzalez
Seattle City Councilmember Debora Juarez
Mayor David Baker, City of Kenmore [Vice Chair for Suburban Cities]
Councilmember Largo Wales, City of Auburn

These members serve terms ranging from one to three years. The Board of Health meets on the third Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. in the Metropolitan King County Council Chambers, unless otherwise specified.

Here's a link to information on the BOH briefing/proposal as well as information on how to comment including the dates, times and locations for the community meetings.
www.kingcounty.gov/depts/ health/board-of-health/ proceedings/briefing-16-B12

For your information, here's my original email information about this issue:

Septic Systems

Public Health – Seattle & King County is suggesting that a system be set up to register each septic, inspect it on a regular basis and add a yearly fee to your tax bill. There is a link below to all the material they have released so far. This is the best time for you to give your input, while they are developing this policy. Help me reset this direction.

It's always a pleasure working for you.  Thank you for your help.  Kathy Lambert

47th District Summer Booth Sign-ups

The 47th District Summer Picnic Is Back!!
After a lapse in 2015, the "annual" 47th district summer picnic is back!  This is always attended by many fellow Republicans (and a stray Democrat or two) and is one of the most popular picnic events around.  There is always musical entertainment with a live band, good food, candidates and lots of time to socialize with fellow Republicans.  Please consider attending - even if you are not from the 47th.  But you DO need to register so the organizers know how many to prepare for. Sign up here: http://kc47gop.org/specevents.html
